What is Computer Networking?
Computer networking refers to interconnected computing devices that can exchange data and share resources with each other. Moreover these networked devices use a system of rules, called communications protocols, to transmit information over physical and wireless technologies.
How does Computer Network work?
However nodes and links are the basic building blocks in computer network. A network node may be data communications equipment such as a modern, hub, switch, or data terminal equipment such as two or more computer and printers. A link refers to the transmission media connecting two nodes. Further, link may be physical, like cable wires or optical fibers, or free space used by wireless networks.
What is Protocol Networking?
A protocol technology is require for communication between computers. But to connect different types of computers from a variety of computer vendors, protocol must be first standardized protocol. The ARPA means (Advanced Research Project Agency) part of the US Defense program was the first to introduce the concept of a standardized protocol.
Types of Protocol?
There are many types of protocol networking:
- Transmission control protocol
- Internet protocol
- File transfer protocol
- Telnet
- Simple mail transfer protocol
- HTTP
- Ethernet
- Transmission control procedure
- Character orientated protocols
- Binary synchronous protocol
What is Hub in Networking?
A hub is the simple of those switch, router, and bridges in networking. In general, a hub is the central part of a wheel where the spokes come together. Hubs cannot filter data so data packets are sent to all connected devices computer and do not have intelligence to find out best path for data packets.
What is DMZ Networking?
A DMZ is a physical and logical subnet that isolate a LAN from untrusted networks like the public internet. Any service that is offered to users on the public internet should be set up in the DMZ network. The external facing servers, services, and resources are usually placed there. Service include web, Domain name system, email, proxy servers and file transfer protocol.
What is a Port?
Moreover a port is a virtual point where network connections start and end. Ports are software based and managed by a computer operating system. Furthermore each port is associate with a specific process or service. Ports allow computers to easily difference between different kind of traffics.
What is mean by Switching in Networking?
However, switching in IT and computer networking is the transfer of data packets, or blocks of data, through a network switch. Switches transfer data from source ports on devices such as computers or destination ports on devices such as routers.
What is Network Bridge?
A network bridge is a computer networking device that create a single, moreover, it aggregate network from multiple communication networks or network segments.
